About ME
My passion for seaweed started in 2015, afternoticing all the beach cast seaweed on the Melkbos Strand beach. Thereafter I discovered the power of seaweed, especially linked to the fight against climate change. Seaweed has the potential to transform a wide variety of industries - from food, to biofibres, to bioplastic and biofuel.
What I Do
There is amazing potential for job creation in South Africa, by establishing various seaweed industries. My first entry point into the market, is food. I have also developed a special technique to transform seaweed into a pliable material, perfect for fashion and home décor products. The long term goals include aquaculture.
